Current overall IHRA Pro Modified points leader Kenny Lang, driver of the NitroMoose Pro Modified Corvette, extended his overall 2008 IHRA Championship points margin with a superb "final four" finish at Grand Bend last weekend. Lang wheeled his '53 Corvette into Sunday's final eliminations following a 6.073 secs shot during time trials which qualified him 4th. He then took the measure of both Quain Stott and Scott Cannon before losing a semi-final round decision to Tommy D'Aprile, driver of Mel Bush's ultra-cool '62 Chevy. Kenny ran 6.270 secs at 234.09 mph in that match compared to D'Aprile's superior 6.146 secs at 233.08 mph. "Overall we're happy with the semi final finish and the fact we padded our points position a bit," stated Kenny Lang. "You always want to go further but in the class the competition is so tough because of all the great cars and drivers. I also don't remember an event that we raced at with such vastly different conditions. It was a real roller coaster ride tuning the car." (Bruce Biegler Photo)

NitroMoose Motorsports and Canada's most famous Pro Stock racing team, the Konigshofer Brothers, have began a brand new racing association. The NitroMoose/Konigshofer Motorsports Mustang made it's public debut during the IHRA Mopar Canadian Nationals and the results were very positive. Driver John Konigshofer qualified solidly in the middle of the pack (9th) with a run of 6.425 secs. In round one on Sunday he ran an even quicker 6.413 secs but that was run down by fellow Ford racer Jeff Dobbins who ran 6.388 secs. "Johnny K" had beaten Dobbins off the starting line with a great .015 RT. Fans are reminded to check back often to NitroMoose "MooseTracks" because we will be posting frequent updates on all the Konigshofer Brothers racing escapades going forward! (Bruce Biegler Photo)

For the 2nd year in a row our talented NitroMoose Top Alcohol Dragster driver Dave DeAngelis placed runner-up during NHRA's Super Nationals event at Englishtown NJ. Now driving the Cantrell Brothers-owned dragster, Dave and that team showed true grit as they overcame some significant mechanical hurdles while enroute to the championship final round. After qualifying 10th with a 5.544 secs, Dave outran Bill Evans, Todd Nicholson and Rich McPhillips to advance to the final round against Australian-based female driver Diana Harker. The two opponents left together and Dave in fact built a good lead only to have the blower belt shread which knocked off a coil wire. Dave's engine went silent and he could only coast and watch while Diana scored her first ever NHRA national event win, for which the NitroMoose Team offers it's congratulations. "There is no doubt we struggled early but the guys on this team refused to give up," said DeAngelis. "The Cantrell Brothers always come to race -- they are a great team to be associated with. What happened in the final was truly unfortunate. On these cars the blower belt has always been the weakest link -- and it bit us." Dave's quickest run of the event was a 5.458 secs effort which flashed up during round two. That was the quickest run overall by a supercharged TAD during the E-Town race . The final round appearance was in fact Dave's 3-straight at his home track Old Bridge Township Raceway Park -- including last year's nationals and the LODRS event. (Bruce Biegler Photo)

The NitroMoose/Lang Racing Pro Modified Corvette was dominating while winning at IHRA’s Motor City Nationals held near Detroit Michigan last Sunday. Driver Kenny Lang, from Manitoba, enjoyed his best weekend of racing ever and scored his second consecutive national event victory. By doing that he moved to the top of the points podium for the 2008 IHRA championship title! Make no mistake -- Lang’s win driving the Al Billes tuned ’53 Corvette, was a frightening display for the competition as it came from the pole and included low ET of the meet 5.958 secs (a career best). He was the single PM class racer to dip sub 6.0 secs during the entire event -- and did that 3X. The "fives" were in fact the first of Kenny's career and he also ran his fastest speed ever at 239.65 mph. Kenny also won the "Last Man Standing" Awards both Friday and Saturday to claim those valuable bonus points too. After beating Tom Patterson, Carl Spiering and Jim Halsey, Lang dominated Mike Castellana in the final round hitting a winning 6.021 secs at 238.55 to seal the victory. Castellana’s wild looking nitrous injected Firebird fell back due to tire shake. (Bruce Biegler Photos)

NitroMoose was pleased to unveil it's newest racing partnership last weekend during NHRA's Summit Racing Southern Nationals near Atlanta with the Northeast based NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster owned by Joe, Kevin and Steve Cantrell. Driven by talented Dave DeAngelis, the all new Can-Am NitroMoose/JC Auto Glass dragster made it's public debut and ran well doing that. "Diamond Dave" qualified #10 with a swift 5.478 secs at 259.16 mph. In round one he raced fellow Division 1 driver Mike Kosky, but Dave, who is still getting used to driving the new Yancer/BAE powered dragster fouled out. His 5.575 secs at 257.28 mph would have otherwise likely covered Kosky's troubled 5.761 secs in the other lane. (Bruce Biegler Photos)

We couldn't have been prouder or ask for more! Our new NitroMoose Pro Mod driver Kenny Lang achieved a long time dream yesterday and delivered the first IHRA national event title win for the NitroMoose brand during the IHRA’s Spring Nationals held at Rockingham, NC. Driving his spectacular and refurbished ’53 Corvette, Lang and his talented crew (from Manitoba) were all business all weekend while putting forth a rather dominating display. After qualifying #2 for the very swift Pro Modified program with a 6.031 secs effort, Lang and company coaxed three more low 6.0 secs runs on Sunday to advance past Jason Hamstra, Billy Gibson and Tommy D’Aprile. That was to have set up a much anticipated final round date with defending IHRA World Champion Scott Cannon. However when Cannon’s car had engine problems and developed a leak, Lang rode off into the North Carolina sunset on a single and as a victor. The win came in what was in fact Lang’s third straight final round appearance at the “Rock” including the 2007 racing season. Congrats Kenny & Company! Photo Courtesy of Chris Simmons.

Despite losing one run due to rain , Kevin Cantrell tuned the team to a solid qualifying run, (at 5.527 secs 255.48 mph - 10th) before a narrow 1st round loss on Sunday to Brandon Lewis; 5.499 secs to 5.506 secs. 2008 will mark the first full season for the team with Dave DeAngelis behind the wheel full time of the Tom Yancer built supercharged car. For the first time ever the NitroMoose Brand was seen in California! Thanks to car owners Kevin and Joe Cantrell and our skilled driver "Diamond Dave" DeAngelis -- the NitroMoose was seen in competition for Top Alcohol Dragster during the NHRA season-ending AAA Auto Club Finals. Instead of driving his own dragster, Dave took a stint behind the wheel of the Cantrell's unique Yancer-chassied machine at the Pomona race. Although he did not qualify (his 5.490 secs at 257.33 mph best) missed the swift 5.432 secs bump -- the opportunity for Dave to race down the fabled Pomona Raceway surface was certainly a dream come true. "The track was awesome and so was the competition here," said Dave. NitroMoose is very thankful to the Cantrells for their co-operation in helping to expose our new brand to this new market during the event. (Bruce Biegler Photos)

Quebec's Daniel Mercier had a heroic effort during his last NHRA Divisional points race of 2007 during the LODRS event held at Georgia's Silver Dollar Raceway (Oct. 20-21). Mercier qualifyed #1 and ran both low ET and top speed of the meet 5.353 secs 277.03 mph while marching to victory. The effort moved Mercier into a two-way tie with fellow NitroMoose Motorsports TAD counterpart "Diamond Dave" DeAngelis who also participated at the event. Both drivers accumulated 277 points this season however DeAngelis held on to 2nd place based on the tie-breaker (most points in home division). John Fink ended up taking the Division One crown, and Mercier, who won it in 2006 finished 3rd. Needess to say NitroMoose is most proud of both it's team drivers! (Dave DeAngelis Photos)

The NitroMoose/Ajax Engines '57 Chevy ran it's final event of the season during last weekend's IHRA Canadian Nationals at TMP. We did not qualify for that very tough program (6.205 secs bump) but driver Scott Wildgust and car owner Kirk Silbermann did put together three very solid, straight and safe runs during the event time trails. Our best run was a 6.328 secs at 223.39 mph. Everyone at NitroMoose is very proud of our association with Scott, Kirk and the Ajax Engines team who made some terrific progress in Pro Mod despite it being their rookie season in the class. Dave DeAngelis -- driver of the New Jersey-based NitroMoose (NM-4) dragster placed runner-up again today at Old Bridge Township Raceway Park during the NHRA Division 1 LODRS season finale held there. DeAngelis lost a heartbreaking TAD final round to invading Division 4 racer Troy Buff when he went .001 red in the final round which negated his run of 5.628 secs at 253.99 mph. Buff's winning time was 5.759 secs at 247.77 mph. It marked the second time this season that DD placed second at his home race track. Fans will recall he just missed winning at the ProCare RX Nationals last June. This weekend saw Dave qualify #3 with a 5.475 secs. He beat Karen Stalba in round one and then fellow NitroMoose team member Daniel Mercier in the semi final round. Dave's best speed of the race was a whopping 258.76 mph. (Bruce Biegler Photo)
