Tim Boychuk’s (new for 2016) Happy Hour Racing/NitroMoose.ca Camaro Funny Car made it’s first ever appearance in Canada during the IHRA’s Mopar Canadian Nationals at Grand Bend Motorplex.
The “stealth moose” – which had won at the IHRA’s national event race in Maryland the weekend before – qualified #6 at Grand Bend with a best run of 5.830 secs at 248.20 mph.
Unfortunately the team’s aspirations for a consecutive circuit victory fell short on Saturday night when they were forced to shut off on the starting lane after developing a slight leak following the burnout process. That allowed opponent Shawn Bowen to advance.
The Happy Hour Racing/NitroMoose.ca team offers it’s congratulations to event winner Mark Sanders who prevailed to win the IHRA Mopar Canadian Nationals title for the 2nd year in a row.
