Weather played a major part during the return of Tim Boychuk’s Happy Hour/NitroMoose.ca Camaro Funny Car which made it’s first ever appearance at Edmonton’s Castrol Raceway – during the 14th annual IHRA Mopar Canadian Nationals.
Tim qualified the car with a very strong 5.623 secs run at 251.54 mph which was #2 on the 8-car list.
But in round one of competition (held after a 5 1/2 hour rain delay on Sunday night) he slowed to a 5.816 secs at 241.03 mph which was not enough to run down Shawn Bowen’s “Violator” Dodge which hit a winning 5.721 secs at 240.51 mph.
Bowen, who is from Michigan went on to win the race and the entire Boychuk Racing team operation congratulates him for that!
