Tim Boychuk’s popular Edmonton based racing team shook off the winter cob webs when they had their first season racing appointment during the iconic 60th annual March Meet. That event was held at fabled Auto Club Famoso Raceway near Bakersfield.
Tim’s Happy Hour/NitroMoose Camaro was one of 25 machines entered and he qualified well with a pass of 5.819 secs which put him 9th for the elite 16-car field.
Tim’s first round opponent was rather ironically his cross town rival Ryan Hodgson, driver the the Hodgson/Papirnick Pacemaker Chevy Camaro. Ryan, who is the defending 2017 NHRA Hot Rod Heritage Series World Champ for AA/FC did prevail in that match – 5.701 secs to 6.000.
Ryan went on to a runner-up finish losing to Bobby Cottrell in the championship round.
Everyone at Boychuk Racing congratulates Bobby and the “Austin & O’Brien” AA/FC team on their event title.
